Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o visited the "2026 Sanggye 3·4-dong Community Festival and Residents' Assembly" at Dangogae District Park on Suraksan on Saturday, joining residents at the event.
The event is part of the "2026 Dong Village Festival and Residents' Assembly," a relay series running from September through October across all 19 dong neighborhoods in Nowon-gu. It was organized as a platform for resident self-governance, where community members create and enjoy the festival while collectively discussing and deciding on local agenda items.
Hosted by the Sanggye 3·4-dong Festival Organizing Committee and the Residents' Autonomy Council, with support from local welfare centers and related organizations, the event drew about 2,000 residents.
The program featured a variety of performances by residents and local groups, including a taekwondo demonstration, traditional drumming, line dancing, a youth dance showcase, nanta percussion and a trot music medley. Food stalls, hands-on experience and promotional booths, a flea market, and a small and medium-sized enterprise product sales booth rounded out the offerings.
Alongside the festival, a residents' assembly was held to share local agenda items and gather community input.
"The village festival is a space for communication where residents create and enjoy together, and through the residents' assembly, it becomes a venue for self-governance where we decide the future of our neighborhood ourselves," District Mayor Seo said. "We will continue to strengthen resident autonomy so that more community members can directly participate in local change and decision-making."
