IBK Securities announced Thursday it will hold an "Audit Seo-yo? OX Quest" event for subscribers of its official YouTube channel.

The event is part of a YouTube channel activation campaign the company has been running since July. It is designed as an OX quiz — a true-or-false format — to help customers engage with financial investment content in an easy and entertaining way.

The event runs through Sept. 30. Customers who wish to participate must subscribe to the IBK Securities official YouTube channel, post their quiz answer as a comment on the event video and submit an application form.

IBK Securities will select winners by lottery from among correct respondents, offering a 2 million won ($1,460) travel fund for one winner, a 1 million won travel fund for two winners, Baskin-Robbins pint ice cream vouchers for 50 winners and Banana Milk vouchers for 10,000 winners.

Travel fund winners must hold an IBK Securities brokerage account to receive their prize. Winners are responsible for a 22 percent tax levy on the travel fund, and the travel fund may be awarded only once per person during the YouTube activation event period.

"We designed this event so customers can build their investment knowledge through quizzes while also enjoying a range of prize benefits," an IBK Securities official said. "We will consistently roll out events that customers can enjoy and continue to engage with them going forward."

IBK Securities posted a net profit for the period of 16.6 billion won in the second quarter of this year, up 27.7 percent from 13 billion won in the same period last year. Its cumulative net profit for the first half reached 30.3 billion won, a 21.2 percent increase from a year earlier. Growth was driven by higher brokerage commissions on the back of increased trading volume in the domestic stock market and improved earnings in the wealth management segment.
