Ultra-short-throw premium projector hits South Korean market
AI optimizes picture and sound; retail price set at 5.29 million won
LG Electronics launched the LG CineBeam AI (model HU925V) in South Korea on Thursday, its first new projector in four years.
The new model can project a 90- to 120-inch 4K UHD image from a distance of just 5.6 to 18.3 centimeters, making it possible to set up a home movie theater even in tight spaces. The retail price is 5.29 million won ($3,860).
The biggest upgrade over previous models is an AI processor. The CineBeam AI is equipped with a third-generation Alpha 8 AI 4K processor, which handles picture and sound optimization as well as user convenience features.
The "AI Picture Pro" and "AI Sound Pro" functions automatically detect the content being viewed and continuously adjust picture and audio quality in real time. Low-resolution content can also be upscaled to 4K.
The projector uses a three-channel RGB laser system. While conventional projectors generate red, green and blue light from a single source, the CineBeam AI produces each color independently, pushing color accuracy up to 94 percent.
Brightness reaches up to 3,000 ANSI lumens, keeping images sharp even in sunlit environments. A manual iris control mode lets users fine-tune screen brightness to match ambient lighting conditions.
The CineBeam AI features a built-in two-channel 40-watt speaker system and supports Dolby Atmos object-based spatial audio, delivering immersive sound from every direction.
It also supports Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which lets the projector serve as the hub of a broader audio system.
The unit measures 68 centimeters wide, 34.7 centimeters deep and 12.8 centimeters tall, and weighs 12.7 kilograms. It comes in black and silver with a metallic finish designed to blend into any interior.
Sales began Thursday on LG Electronics' official online brand shop, LGE.com. Starting in mid-September, the projector will also be available at major LG Best Shop locations, including the flagship D5 store, the Donggyo branch, and the Incheon, Suwon, Daejeon, Seo-Daegu and Sasang flagship stores.
