The same neighborhood can look entirely different depending on who is holding the camera. A familiar alley, a shop stumbled upon by chance, a day spent with friends, a moment at a festival or performance — Seodaemun-gu is inviting residents to turn their personal Sinchon experiences into short video content.

Seodaemun-gu is hosting the "2026 Seodaemun-gu Short-Form Content Contest," calling on citizens to capture Sinchon's landmarks, festivals, culture and everyday life through their own eyes.

The theme is "Sinchon: A 60-Second Guide." Rather than presenting an official image of the neighborhood, the contest encourages participants to freely express the places, moments and stories they have personally experienced. Individuals and teams alike are welcome to enter.

Entries must be vertical short-form videos of 20 seconds or more but under 60 seconds, shot with original live-action footage. There are no restrictions on format — vlogs, advertisements, parodies, challenges, drama series and more are all accepted.

Subject matter is equally open. Participants can film Sinchon landmarks such as Sinchon Culture Power Plant, Changcheon Culture Park and Baramsan Children's Park, or capture cultural events held throughout the neighborhood — including the Sinchon Global University Culture Festival (Sept. 11–13), Youth Day (Sept. 18), Cheongchun-yeok 2026 (Oct. 1) and weekend street performances.

Everyday experiences in Sinchon are also fair game: scenery encountered on a walk, favorite restaurants and cafes, shopping and cultural outings, meetups with friends, family trips or personal hobbies.

Submissions will be accepted from Sept. 7 through Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. via the contest application page listed under the notices section of the Seodaemun-gu district office website.

The district will select seven main prize winners through two rounds of judging, and three popularity award winners through a separate public vote.

The total prize pool is 5.4 million won ($3,940). Awards include a grand prize of 1.5 million won for one entry, two excellence awards of 1 million won each, two merit awards of 500,000 won each, two encouragement awards of 300,000 won each, and three popularity awards of 100,000 won each.

Final winners will be announced Nov. 17 and their work will be featured on Seodaemun-gu's official social media channels and digital promotional platforms. In December, the district plans to hold an exhibition showcasing the winning entries so residents can see the many different faces of Sinchon discovered through their neighbors' eyes.

For more information about the contest, visit the notices section of the Seodaemun-gu district office website or contact the district's communications office.

"Sinchon shows a completely different face depending on who is looking at it," Seodaemun-gu District Mayor Park Woon-ki said. "I hope the charms of Sinchon that have yet to be discovered will be brought to light through the unique perspective of each and every resident."
