'Let us build growth opportunities on close trust and cooperation'

Samsung Electro-Mechanics held its 2026 Partner Company On-Site Communication Forum on Wednesday, aiming to strengthen strategic partnerships with suppliers and jointly raise technological competitiveness amid rapidly shifting market conditions driven by AI and automotive electronics.

The event was held at Hwain Technology, a partner company in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province. President Jang Deok-hyun visited the supplier's manufacturing floor in person, sharing new product roadmaps and business strategies as part of the company's efforts to secure future competitiveness in components and materials. About 40 senior executives and supplier representatives also attended.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics expanded the forum's reach beyond members of its existing supplier council, known as the Hyeopbuhoe, to include additional partner companies based in the Gyeongsang region, broadening on-site communication with local suppliers.

Jang briefed supplier representatives directly on Samsung Electro-Mechanics' business performance and the strategic direction of each division. He particularly stressed the need to differentiate high-value component technology targeting fast-growing markets such as AI servers and automotive electronics, and said strategic collaboration with suppliers was essential to navigating the rapidly changing business environment.

A question-and-answer session followed, during which participants exchanged views on the company's growth strategy, new product roadmap and global market outlook. Suppliers also raised operational difficulties they face on the ground, and the group discussed ways to address them.

"Realizing the technologies of future industries requires a strong foundation in components and materials competitiveness," Jang said. "Let us secure core technologies on the basis of close trust and cooperation, and create growth opportunities in the global market together."

Kwon Hyeok-seok, head of the Hyeopbuhoe and chief executive of MK Chem & Tech, said it was a great encouragement to have Samsung Electro-Mechanics' leadership visit the manufacturing floor in person to share their future vision and listen to voices from the ground. "We will continue the partnership through technological innovation and rigorous quality management so that we can lead high-value markets such as AI and automotive electronics," he said.

After the forum session, Jang and the supplier representatives toured Hwain Technology's manufacturing floor and reviewed key production processes. Samsung Electro-Mechanics said it plans to use feedback gathered during the visit to develop tailored support measures and identify additional areas for mutual growth with individual partner companies.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics works with roughly 900 domestic and overseas partner companies, ranging from those with annual sales of around 1 billion won ($730,000) to those exceeding 1 trillion won. Of these, 40 domestic core component makers are members of the Hyeopbuhoe, which has maintained cooperative ties for 40 years since its founding in 1986.

The company is also expanding financial and technical support for its suppliers. Under a partnership agreement signed last year with the Council on Mutual Cooperation between Large and Small Enterprises, Samsung Electro-Mechanics is providing a total of 200 billion won over three years from 2025 to 2027.

Support measures include financing through a mutual-growth fund, improvements to manufacturing processes aimed at boosting productivity and quality, and customized training programs by specialty and job level. On the strength of these mutual-growth initiatives, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has received an "excellent" rating in the mutual-growth index evaluation for two consecutive years.
