A fire broke out at an oxygen plant inside Hyundai Steel's Dangjin facility Wednesday, but no injuries were reported.

An external pipe connected to an oxygen tank exploded at around 9:38 a.m. at the oxygen plant within Hyundai Steel's complex in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province.

Hyundai Steel's in-house fire response team immediately secured the area, preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding facilities.

Fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident, questioning plant officials and others at the scene.
