Korea Ocean Business Corp. is distributing free emoticons of its official character "Maro" to broaden public engagement.

The corporation said it will offer 25,000 free KakaoTalk emoticons titled "Maro's Every Day" on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The emoticons are designed to give the public more ways to interact with Maro, a character that has previously appeared in wallpapers and SNS promotional content.

Maro is modeled after the finless porpoise, a native whale long found in Korean waters and widely known for its smiling appearance. The character embodies the corporation's identity of "building the path of growth for Korea's maritime industry together."

The emoticon set consists of 16 designs featuring the character's distinctive expressions and movements, aimed at making it more versatile and approachable. Users can download the emoticons by searching for the "Korea Ocean Business Corp." channel on KakaoTalk and adding it as a friend, after which a notification message with a download link is sent immediately. Downloaded emoticons are valid for 30 days.
