294 city-commissioned projects under review from Wednesday through Sept. 16
Ulsan city government will conduct a wage-arrears prevention investigation from Wednesday through Sept. 16 to protect the rights of workers and construction equipment rental operators ahead of the chuseok holiday.
The probe will cover 294 city-commissioned projects — 137 construction contracts and 157 service contracts — with inspectors checking whether wages and construction equipment rental fees have been paid at each worksite. The city said it will strengthen oversight to prevent any arrears from occurring.
Particular attention will be paid to worksites at risk of non-payment. Where arrears are found, the city said it will respond swiftly in accordance with relevant regulations and procedures, with the aim of establishing a sound labor culture across publicly commissioned worksites.
