Actor Kim Hye-soo has purchased a unit at Hannam River Hill, a luxury villa complex in the UN Village area of Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for 8 billion won ($5.82 million) in cash.

Kim first moved into Hannam River Hill in 2023 on a jeonse arrangement with a deposit of 4.5 billion won. About two years later, she purchased the unit directly below her residence for 8 billion won, with no mortgage. The property's current market price is believed to exceed 12 billion won, according to the YouTube channel Wander Planet and Newsis.

Hannam River Hill is one of the most prestigious residential complexes in UN Village, built in 1999 with three buildings, four above-ground floors and a total of 32 units. Each unit has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and an exclusive use area of 260 square meters, with Han River views and tight security. BTS member Suga and actor Kim Ha-neul own units in the complex, and actor Shin Min-a lived there on a jeonse lease before her marriage.

Kim, who previously lived in Jongno-gu, Seoul, relocated to UN Village in Hannam-dong about three years ago. She first came to public attention through the 1985 music video for "Heo-gong" by singer Cho Yong-pil before making her official acting debut in the 1986 film "Kamo." This year marks her 40th anniversary in the industry. She has appeared in roughly 80 productions, including the films "Tazza: The High Rollers," "The Thieves," "Chinatown," "The Face Reader" and "Smugglers," as well as the drama series "Signal," "Under the Queen's Umbrella" and "Juvenile Justice." She also hosted the Blue Dragon Film Awards for 30 years, from 1993 to 2023, earning her the nickname "Lady of the Blue Dragon."
