15-stop tour runs from Monday through November, focusing on grassroots communication and regional development
South Chungcheong Province Governor Park Soo-hyun is embarking on a tour of the province's cities and counties through November, marking his first such outreach effort since taking office.
According to the provincial government, Park will begin the tour Monday in Geumsan-gun and conclude Nov. 13 in Yesan-gun, visiting all 15 cities and counties in sequence to engage directly with residents.
The tour is built around the provincial administration's slogan for the current term — "A Connected South Chungcheong, Together with Residents" — with a focus on strengthening grassroots communication and identifying ways to promote balanced regional development. The subtitle for the initiative is "Seven Goals of Provincial Governance."
Each visit will follow a set schedule: a meeting with the city mayor or county chief, a roundtable with local journalists, a visit to the city or county council, and a public dialogue with residents — in that order. All events will be livestreamed on the province's official YouTube channel.
During the public dialogues, Park plans to engage openly with residents from all walks of life, honoring local elders and veterans' families in the spirit of the "Chungcheong values of loyalty, filial piety and propriety."
The opening visit to Geumsan-gun will focus on key provincial issues and tailored support measures reflecting a commitment to balanced regional development, as well as discussions on cooperation between the provincial government and local administrations.
Following Geumsan-gun, the September schedule continues with visits to Taean-gun on Tuesday, Gongju on Sept. 17, Asan on Sept. 22 and Seocheon-gun on Sept. 29.
In October, Park will meet with residents in Hongseong-gun on Oct. 6, Cheongyang-gun on Oct. 7, Dangjin on Oct. 8, Boryeong on Oct. 13, Buyeo-gun on Oct. 15, Seosan on Oct. 19 and Gyeryong on Oct. 23.
In November, visits to Nonsan on Nov. 2 and Cheonan on Nov. 10 will precede the final stop in Yesan-gun on Nov. 13, bringing the tour to a close.
"This tour — the first city and county visit drive since the start of the current term — will be a meaningful opportunity to share the new provincial vision and goals directly with residents," Park said. "I will actively reflect the candid voices from the field in our governance and deliver substantive, policy-centered communication."
