HS Hwaseong announced Tuesday that it has been selected as the contractor for the Bitchwi Town street housing redevelopment project in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

At a contractor selection general meeting held Saturday, HS Hwaseong secured the contract with strong support from association members, further cementing its position in the Greater Seoul redevelopment market.

The Daechi-dong Bitchwi Town project will comprise two buildings with seven below-ground floors and 18 above-ground floors, totaling 95 units. The construction cost is approximately 129.6 billion won ($94.4 million).

Daechi-dong, where the project is located, is widely regarded as South Korea's premier education district and one of the most sought-after residential areas in Gangnam.

The complex sits near Daechi-dong's dense hagwon district and a cluster of prestigious schools — including Whimoon High School, Dankook University Affiliated High School and Sookmyung Women's High School — drawing steady demand from families with school-age children.

The site also offers access to Samsung and Seolleung stations on Seoul Metro Line 2 and Hanti Station on the Suin-Bundang Line, along with abundant lifestyle amenities including COEX and Hyundai Department Store's Trade Center branch.

HS Hwaseong plans to apply its high-end residential brand Ehcra to the project, marketing it under the name "Samsung Station Ehcra."

This will mark the third application of the Ehcra brand, following its use last year at the Jamwon Hanshin Town redevelopment project in Seocho-gu and the Sinseong Yeonlib redevelopment project in Seongsu-dong.

"This contract is significant in that it extends our project footprint from Jamwon-dong in Seocho-gu and Seongsu-dong in Seongdong-gu to Daechi-dong in Gangnam-gu, further solidifying our presence in Seoul's core residential areas," an HS Hwaseong official said.
