Seohan announced Tuesday that it signed a construction contract worth 164.9 billion won ($120 million) with the Yangsan Central local housing cooperative for a mixed-use development in Yangsan-dong, Buk-gu, in the South Jeolla Province-Gwangju integrated special city.

The project will rise on a site of 1,116.3 square meters and comprise four buildings with five below-ground floors and 39 above-ground floors, housing 406 apartment units.

The total construction period is 50 months, with ground-breaking planned for December.

The site sits adjacent to Yongdu Station on Gwangju Urban Railway Line 2, scheduled to open in 2029, and is also close to the Dongnim interchange.

The surrounding area offers strong educational and residential amenities. Nearby schools include Yongdu Elementary, Yongdu Middle, Boncheol Elementary and Jisan Middle schools, and Yangsan Lake Park is within easy reach. The neighborhood is also home to a well-established commercial district with a broad range of financial, medical and educational facilities.

Seohan has built a track record in local housing cooperative projects. Its Seohan Forest developments near Banwoldang Station and Duryu Station in Daegu both achieved 100 percent sales, and the company has also signed a construction contract with the Gimpo Singok local housing cooperative.

"This Yangsan Central mixed-use project demonstrates Seohan's strength as we expand our business beyond Daegu to the rest of the country," said Seohan President Jeong Woo-pil.
