Internet broadcaster couple Gwajupseyeon (real name In Se-yeon, 26) and Kay (real name Park Jung-gyu, 37) are under police investigation on charges of taking zolpidem, a psychotropic drug, it has been confirmed.

Seoul's Gangnam Police Station booked In and Park, along with a third person, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act on July 30 and is currently investigating them, Yonhap reported Tuesday.

Gwajupseyeon is suspected of taking zolpidem — classified as a psychotropic substance — together with Kay in mid-June.

The investigation into the pair began when Kay was transported to a hospital.

Signs of psychotropic drug use emerged as fire department personnel transferred Kay to a hospital. Police then conducted about a month of investigation before designating both Kay and Gwajupseyeon as suspects.

Police questioned the two about the specific circumstances under which they took zolpidem and whether either had a prior history of psychotropic drug use.

After news broke last month that Park had been booked for obtaining sleeping pills through a proxy prescription, he acknowledged on a personal live broadcast that he had been questioned by police. While only Park's case had initially been reported, it was confirmed Tuesday that his girlfriend In is also under investigation.

Park obtained the psychotropic sleeping pills through an acquaintance who procured a prescription on his behalf.

Park began streaming online in 2012 and has accumulated more than 706,000 YouTube subscribers as of Tuesday. In drew public attention in 2024 after she was spotted in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, with Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk.
