Seongbuk-gu held the closing ceremony of the "Seongbuk Youth Shoplufluencer Academy" — a live-commerce specialist training program run in partnership with Kookmin University — on Saturday at the Kookmin University Student Welfare Center.

The academy ran for eight weeks from June 27 to Saturday, comprising eight sessions totaling 48 hours, and was open to young residents of the district. The curriculum covered live-commerce practice, personal branding and influencer marketing, with the aim of building professional competencies in media retail.

The program drew particular attention for producing a concrete career success story: one graduate from a previous cohort secured a position at Lotte Home Shopping. The district and the university said they plan to continue providing mentoring and networking opportunities after graduation to support participants through to employment or a business launch.

A Kookmin University official said shoplufluencing is a specialized field that demands content planning, product analysis and communication skills, and pledged that the university would actively leverage its educational infrastructure to help young people compete in the live-commerce market.

Seongbuk-gu District Mayor Lee Seung-ro said the program was designed as a hands-on course to help young people explore new career paths in the fast-growing live-commerce sector. "Last year's employment outcome is a meaningful result born of the participants' hard work and quality educational infrastructure," he said. "We will continue working with universities in the district to consistently roll out youth employment and startup support policies that keep pace with a changing industry."
