Hankook & Group announced Tuesday that it has overhauled its companywide work platform and significantly expanded generative AI-powered support features to improve employee productivity.

The group worked with Gaon-i, a specialist in agentic AI platforms, to redesign its internal work platform, Arena, and verified key functions in a real work environment through a week-long beta test. The revamped Arena has evolved into an AI-based work support platform that delivers the information and tools employees need based on their roles and objectives — covering everything from automated repetitive tasks to customizable work bots.

The overhaul also strengthens features aimed at reducing the time employees spend searching for information. The platform can quickly retrieve and summarize key content from a wide range of manuals and operational data accumulated across major functions including R&D, sales, marketing and supply chain management, allowing staff to spend less time tracking down information and more time on higher-priority work.

The scope of AI use has been extended beyond day-to-day tasks to planning and decision-making. When developing business strategies and ideas, employees can use the platform to search for market and customer information, review concepts and check compliance-related details, enabling faster access to the information needed to move work forward.

In addition, an AI-powered automatic translation feature has been introduced to support collaboration across global offices, allowing emails and documents written in different languages to be translated and reviewed directly within the platform. The platform also offers tools for summarizing emails and documents, automatically extracting to-do items and drafting initial content.

Hankook & Group completed a three-pillar business portfolio spanning tires, batteries and thermal management following the addition of Hanon Systems, and has been steadily integrating its organizational structure, culture and infrastructure at the group level. The Arena overhaul extends that effort to the shared work environment, upgrading it with AI capabilities and strengthening operational efficiency and cross-affiliate collaboration in line with the group's expanded structure.

"This overhaul creates an environment where employees can make broader use of generative AI in their everyday work," a Hankook & Group official said. "Under our data- and AI-driven strategy, we will continue to innovate the work environment so that AI adoption translates into real gains in productivity and execution."

Meanwhile, Hankook & Group has been actively expanding communication with employees, including hosting a knowledge-sharing session on brand strategy at its Pangyo headquarters, Technoplex, in Gyeonggi Province.
