Hankook Tire & Technology announced Tuesday the launch of two new winter performance tires: the Winter i*cept evo4 and the Winter i*cept evo4 SUV.

The Winter i*cept evo4 succeeds the Winter i*cept evo3, which was previously supplied as original equipment to leading global automakers and proved its performance in winter tire comparison tests by prominent German automotive publications including Auto Bild and ADAC.

The new tire delivers stronger winter driving performance through improved snow traction and handling. Wider lateral grooves provide 5 percent better grip and traction on snow compared with the previous model, while multi-angle sipes — fine cuts in the tread optimized for snow driving — enhance stability.

Wet-road safety has also been reinforced. The tire uses a "Balance Grip EMC" that delivers strong grip across a variety of surfaces, improving braking performance on wet roads. A V-shaped tread pattern rapidly channels water to both sides, effectively suppressing aquaplaning.

Fuel efficiency and mileage performance have also been improved. An optimized vulcanization temperature lowers rolling resistance to reduce fuel consumption, while a wider contact patch distributes vehicle load evenly across the tire. The result is uniform wear and a 15 percent improvement in mileage performance over the previous model, offering superior economy.

The Winter i*cept evo4 and Winter i*cept evo4 SUV are available in a full lineup of 127 sizes — 65 for passenger cars and 62 for SUVs — ranging from 17 to 22 inches.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire & Technology is continuing a range of marketing activities to expand its global customer reach, including participation in IAA Transportation 2026 — the world's largest commercial vehicle exhibition — to be held in Hanover, Germany, from Sept. 15 to 20 (local time), where the company will showcase its latest truck and bus tire technology and products.
