Retail tech company Kurly announced Tuesday that monthly transaction volume on Kurly N Mart has grown roughly tenfold in the year since the service launched.
Kurly N Mart is a grocery shopping service that Kurly and Naver jointly opened on Naver Plus Store in September last year. The platform has since expanded its exclusive product lineup, introduced early-morning and midnight delivery, and offered free delivery to Naver Plus membership subscribers.
Purchase metrics have also trended upward. Regular customers used Kurly N Mart at least once a week, and the average number of monthly orders per customer rose 35 percent from the service's early days. The number of items added to a cart per order grew 22 percent over the past year.
Exclusive products proved popular as well. Seven out of every 10 orders placed on Kurly N Mart included "Kurly Only" items — products available exclusively through Kurly.
To mark the first anniversary, Kurly and Naver are running a "Kurly N Mart First Anniversary Festa" through Sunday. Every day at 11 a.m., everyday grocery items such as bottled water, antibiotic-free eggs and cherry tomatoes go on sale for 100 won. At 5 p.m., a "half-price deal" offers 50 percent discounts on popular products including fruit and meal kits.
Han Seung-min, head of Kurly's product marketing strategy and operations division, said the two companies would "continue to expand strategic collaboration and refine the service so that more customers can experience premium fresh food and early-morning delivery."
