Yu Seong [Korea Broadcast Comedians Association]

Veteran comedian Yu Seong, born Yu Jong-su, died Monday. He was best known for his appearances on MBC's comedy program "Useumyeon Bogi Wayo" and other shows.

The Korea Broadcast Comedians Association said Yu died Monday morning. He was born in 1938 and was 88.

Yu was a first-generation comedian who held membership No. 8 in the Korea Broadcast Comedians Association, following the late Ko Bong-seo, Song Hae and Nam Seong-nam.

He brought laughter to audiences through some of the most popular programs of his era, including MBC's "Useumyeon Bogi Wayo" and "Cheonchunmanmanse," as well as KBS's "Humor 1beonji" and "Myeongnang Sogeukjang."

A memorial altar has been set up at Room 8 of the funeral hall at Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Suwon Hospital in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. The funeral procession is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, with burial at Suwon Seunghwawon.
