Shinsegae Group announced Monday it will make early payments to small and midsize supplier companies ahead of the 2026 Chuseok holiday.

Three affiliates — E-mart, Shinsegae department store and SSG.com — are participating in the early payment initiative. Together, the three companies will disburse a combined 1.95 trillion won ($726 million), a figure that includes both early payments advanced by up to 12 days and regular payments made under existing contract terms.

Shinsegae Group normally pays suppliers three to four times a month to help them manage cash flow steadily. E-mart and Shinsegae department store have also operated a co-prosperity fund since 2011, offering suppliers low-interest loans.

"We are working to reduce the burden on our partner companies during the period when demand for funds is concentrated around the holiday season," a Shinsegae Group official said.
