Goryeong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province will host the "2026 Goryeong National Heritage Night" from Friday through Sunday at the Jisan-dong Ancient Tombs and the Daegaya History Theme Tourism Zone, running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening, the county announced Monday.

The event is co-hosted and organized by Goryeong-gun and the Goryeong Culture and Tourism Foundation, with support from the Cultural Heritage Administration and North Gyeongsang Province.

Themed "Daegaya: A Beautiful Night," the three-day program invites visitors to see, walk through and experience Goryeong's national heritage sites after dark, offering a chance to engage with the history and culture of the ancient Daegaya kingdom in a setting distinct from daytime visits.

The program is built around eight nighttime concepts — night scenery, night tales, night stories, night walks, night paintings, night markets, night food and night lodging.

Performance highlights include a fire-based "Fire Goblin Performance," a candlelit music show called "The Candle in Goryeong," and busking acts that will animate the evening.

On Saturday in particular, a "Daegaya Nakwha Nori" — a traditional ember-dropping fire display — will be staged near Ureukji to mark the third anniversary of the site's UNESCO World Heritage inscription.

Local commerce will also be woven into the festivities. A "Daegaya Market" will feature a flea market selling local products and a nighttime food zone, and visitors who present receipts from purchases at local businesses can exchange them for regional specialty goods.

Concurrently, the "2026 World Heritage Festival — Gaya Tumuli" will be held at the Daegaya Museum grounds, offering programs centered on the Jisan-dong Ancient Tombs that explore the World Heritage value of the Gaya tumuli and the history and culture of Daegaya.

"The National Heritage Night is an event where visitors can encounter Goryeong's national heritage, including the Jisan-dong Ancient Tombs, in a completely different light from the daytime," a county official said. "We hope people will walk through Goryeong's night and feel the history and culture of Daegaya for themselves."
