Coloring program and drawing contest set for Sept. 5

GS Caltex announced Monday it is running a "Children's Ecology Observation Drawing Class" for children and families at the Seoul Forest learning garden, which is hosting the 2026 Seoul International Garden Expo.

Registration is available on-site at the learning garden or through the Seoul Green Trust website.

The program was designed to give residents a hands-on experience of the Seoul Forest learning garden, which was renovated in April. GS Caltex originally supported the creation of the space when Seoul Forest opened in 2005, and has since transformed it into a learning garden where visitors can explore and learn about nature through a range of ecology programs.

By closely observing and sketching plants and insects, children can deepen their understanding of ecosystems and discover the beauty of the natural world. GS Caltex is also running a coloring program using the garden's ecological resources, and plans to hold a coloring session and an ecology observation drawing contest at the Seoul Forest learning garden on Saturday.

"We hope children will learn about the beauty of nature and the value of biodiversity through the process of directly observing and recording plants and insects," a GS Caltex official said. "We look forward to the learning garden becoming an environmental education space where citizens can learn about and document nature."

Meanwhile, GS Caltex continues to carry out a range of corporate social responsibility initiatives beyond operating the Seoul Forest learning garden, spanning environmental education and carbon reduction. These include planting salt marsh vegetation to build blue carbon reserves, coastal cleanup activities, and energy efficiency improvement projects.
