SK Energy, Naver Pay sign MOU to expand customer benefits

Pre-launch promotion to run through December

SK Energy and Naver Pay (Npay) announced Monday they have signed an MOU to expand benefits for customers at SK gas stations.

Under the agreement, the two companies will combine SK Energy's nationwide gas station network with Npay's mobile payment service benefits. They plan to introduce Naver Pay point accumulation for customers who refuel at SK stations, then gradually expand cooperation to include mobile payments and joint marketing.

SK Energy customers will be able to earn Naver Pay points when they refuel at SK stations starting as early as January 2027. Naver Pay points can be used across a wide range of online and offline merchants as part of everyday spending.

Ahead of the full service launch, a four-month pre-launch promotion running from September through December will offer enhanced customer benefits. Customers who spend 50,000 won ($36) or more on fuel at an SK station using the "Npay x Samsung Pay" mobile payment option will receive 3,000 won worth of Naver Pay points.

In addition, 300 customers who participate in the promotion will be selected by lottery each month to receive an additional 50,000 won in Naver Pay points. Full details on the promotion and how to participate are available in the "Payment Benefits" menu within the Naver Pay app.

"Through our partnership with Naver Pay, we will provide SK gas station customers with more tangible benefits and a more convenient payment experience," said Bae Jeong-han, SK Energy's head of marketing. "We want customers to feel the benefits firsthand through this pre-launch promotion before the service officially goes live."
