Bentley Motors announced Thursday that it has appointed T. John Meyer as its new head of exterior design and design operations. Meyer played a central role in shaping the user experience (UX) design vision for the Torcal, a new model set for its global debut in September.

Since joining Bentley in 2024, Meyer has worked to blend craftsmanship and design innovation into the brand's digital experience. He led UX design for the Torcal — Bentley's fourth model — and was instrumental in translating the design vision established at the concept stage through to the production vehicle.

In his expanded role, Meyer will build on the design leadership he demonstrated on the Torcal and more than 20 years of global automotive design experience, extending his responsibilities from UX to the exterior design of Bentley's vehicles.

Under the Beyond100+ strategy, he will oversee exterior design development across Bentley's current and future product portfolio — spanning production vehicles and concept cars — while setting the design direction for next-generation luxury models and advancing the brand's future design language.

Robin Page, Bentley Motors' head of design, said Meyer "has been a key member of the Bentley design leadership team, playing an important role in strengthening the connection between creative design and the real-world production process." Page added that Meyer's "expertise in exterior design and collaborative leadership style make him the right person to develop Bentley's design language and lead our next-generation products."

Meyer said he was "honored to lead the exterior design team at such a pivotal moment for Bentley" and expressed hope to "contribute to writing a new chapter in Bentley design."

Meanwhile, Bentley Motors recently opened a state-of-the-art paint factory at its Crewe headquarters as part of its ongoing Dream Factory transformation under the Beyond100+ strategy.
