Additional contribution to 'Modu Seongjang' financial support project
Major affiliates to relocate to Cheongna International City in September
Hana Bank said Thursday it has made a special contribution of 500 million won ($362,000) to the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation to support small business owners with low or mid-tier credit ratings in the Incheon area.
The contribution is part of the bank's efforts to advance inclusive finance through tangible financial support in the region. It represents an additional outlay to the "Modu Seongjang" (all-growth) financial support project, which received an initial 1.5 billion won contribution in March.
The program will expand beyond its existing focus on youth entrepreneurship, job creation and commercial district revitalization to include small business owners with low or mid-tier credit ratings. Hana Bank said the move will provide a meaningful financial safety net for underserved small businesses in Incheon.
With the additional contribution, Hana Bank's total 2026 outlay to the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation rises from 5.5 billion won to 6 billion won. The volume of guarantee supply channeled through the foundation to the Incheon area will grow by 7.5 billion won — from 84 billion won to 91.5 billion won.
Hana Financial Group plans to relocate major affiliates to Cheongna International City in Incheon next month. On Aug. 14, the group signed an agreement with Incheon Metropolitan City to provide financial support for shared regional growth.
Seo Yu-seok, head of Hana Bank's corporate group, said the bank would continue to deliver a range of locally tailored inclusive finance initiatives for small business owners in Incheon ahead of the group's planned move to Cheongna. "Hana Bank will take the lead in serving as Incheon's representative financial institution — one that makes a real contribution to the growth of the local economy," he said.
