Soyu, a singer and former member of the girl group Sistar, said she was shocked to learn her muscle mass had decreased when she underwent a health checkup for the first time after losing 20 kg.

On Monday, Soyu posted a video to her YouTube channel titled "Revealing everything — Soyu's first health checkup results after losing 20 kg."

The checkup was her first in two years.

Soyu said she had been worried about her liver because she enjoys drinking, but was relieved when the results showed her liver, gallbladder, stomach and colon were all normal. "I got healthier by losing weight," she said.

She was less pleased, however, to learn that she had lost 3 kg of muscle during the weight-loss process. "People keep telling me I look too thin, and today I was a bit shocked," she said. "I lost as much as 3 kg of muscle."

Soyu then declared she would raise her current skeletal muscle mass of 20.8 kg to around 23 kg before traveling to Mexico in September.

When the production crew asked how she planned to build muscle, Soyu said many people cut out carbohydrates entirely when dieting. "You should eat enough carbohydrates, make sure to get plenty of protein, and do a lot of weight training," she said.

Meanwhile, Soyu had previously drawn attention after revealing she had lost a total of 20 kg, dropping from 68 kg to 48 kg.
