Dongwon F&B is joining the wave of price increases sweeping the food industry, with hikes on select products set to take effect Sept. 1.
According to industry sources Tuesday, the company will raise prices on some products by an average of 9 to 10 percent. By category, tuna cans will go up 10 percent, while beverages — including omija tea — will rise 9 to 10 percent.
"Due to high oil prices, a high exchange rate and a sharp rise in packaging material costs, we plan to adjust the prices of some products, including beverages and tuna cans," a Dongwon F&B official said.
