Hankook Tire & Technology announced Tuesday that it will supply its iON evo SUV — an electric vehicle-dedicated performance tire — as original equipment for the Polestar 4, the all-electric performance coupe SUV from global EV brand Polestar.

The deal marks Hankook Tire's first original-equipment tire partnership with Polestar, further strengthening the company's position in the global premium electric vehicle market. The iON evo SUV meets the Polestar 4's demanding performance and EV-specific requirements, demonstrating the company's tire technology capabilities and deepening its collaboration with global automakers.

Hankook Tire will supply the iON evo SUV in 255/50R20 and 255/45R21 sizes, optimized for the Polestar 4's dynamic driving performance and EV characteristics. The tire features the company's EV-dedicated technology platform, iON Innovative Technology, delivering a balanced combination of low noise, improved mileage, strong grip and low rolling resistance.

The tire is engineered to handle the high load and instant torque typical of electric vehicles while providing superior traction and precise handling. An optimized EV-specific profile ensures stable cornering even under the vehicle's considerable weight, and an aramid hybrid reinforcement belt improves steering stability at high speeds.

Hankook Tire already supplies original-equipment tires for major electric vehicle models from global premium automakers including Porsche, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Lucid Motors and Cupra.

"We will continue to expand partnerships with global automakers on the strength of iON — the world's first full-lineup EV-dedicated tire brand — and keep reinforcing our position in the electric vehicle tire market," a company official said.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire continues to broaden its global customer reach through various marketing activities, including a two-year extension of its official partnership with German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.
