Geumcheon-gu is accepting applications for 12 vacant youth-tailored public rental units in Gasan-dong through Sept. 17, the district announced.
The initiative, developed in partnership with the Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (SH), aims to provide affordable housing in a comfortable environment for single-person households — young adults without homes who lack a stable residential base in Geumcheon-gu.
The 12 units are split between two properties: five at G Valley House (150-15 Gasan-dong and two adjacent lots), designed for young workers, artists and entrepreneurs, and seven at a social-mix youth housing complex (148-57 Gasan-dong and two adjacent lots), a community-based rental development where young residents live alongside newlyweds, single-parent families, senior citizens and artists.
Applicants must be unmarried Seoul residents between the ages of 19 and 39 who do not own a home, as of the announcement date of Aug. 19. They must also be employed or aspiring entrepreneurs earning no more than 70 percent of the average monthly income for urban worker households.
Rent and deposits are set below market price to ease the financial burden on young tenants. Both figures are tiered by income bracket, and partial conversion between the deposit and monthly rent is permitted within a set ratio.
The initial lease term is two years. Tenants who maintain eligibility may renew every two years up to four times, allowing a maximum stay of 10 years.

Applications submitted by registered mail between Aug. 19 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 17 will undergo income and asset screening. The district will announce final winners and waitlisted candidates on Dec. 11.
Selected applicants will draw unit assignments and complete a community orientation before moving in between January and March 2027.
"We hope young people struggling with housing costs will be able to focus more on their work and daily lives with a stable place to live," Geumcheon-gu District Mayor Choi Gi-chan said. "We will continue to expand tailored housing policies that support youth housing stability and self-sufficiency."
