GS Retail announced Friday that it delivered emergency relief supplies to residents displaced by record flooding in Geoje, working alongside the Korean Red Cross.

The effort was organized to help local residents forced to evacuate amid sudden torrential rains. The relief package — about 3,000 items including beverages, cup noodles and energy bars — was delivered to an evacuation shelter at the Dunduk township office in Geoje.

GS Retail draws on nationwide infrastructure — spanning its GS25 convenience store chain, GS Shop home shopping channel, GS The Fresh supermarkets and distribution centers — to support disaster victims and aid recovery efforts when national emergencies arise. The company said it plans to assess the ongoing impact of the flooding and consider additional support as needed.

"We decided to offer whatever help we could to those suffering through this unprecedented rainfall," said Park Gyeong-rang, head of GS Retail's ESG division. "GS Retail will continue to serve as a reliable safety net for local communities."
