Jungnang-gu held a gas mask fitting drill for civil servants Thursday afternoon at the district office's below-ground auditorium, timed to coincide with a nationwide air raid evacuation exercise.
The drill was designed to help civil servants quickly and correctly put on gas masks in emergencies such as air raids, and to strengthen their overall emergency response capabilities.
During the Ulchi CPX period, the district had already distributed gas masks and conducted video instruction on how to wear them. Thursday's session gave staff hands-on practice, and the 16 neighborhood community centers across the district also ran safety education sessions alongside gas mask drills before their own air raid evacuation exercises.
"In an emergency, the procedures you have learned through repeated training and hands-on experience matter most," Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will continue to conduct practical drills to strengthen civil servants' crisis response capabilities and ensure that administrative functions are maintained without disruption even in emergency situations."
