Gyeongil University's K-BIC Business Unit held a project agreement ceremony Wednesday at the Interbulgo Exco Hotel, signing agreements with 20 participating companies under its 2026 K-BIC Corporate Support Program.

The ceremony was attended by Kim Hyun-woo, head of the anchor business division; Moon Jong-sik, director of the K-BIC Business Unit; Woo Dong-gyeong, director of the corporate support center; and Nam Ji-un, director of the biotech innovation R&D center, along with project-responsible professors and representatives of the participating companies.

Nine companies were selected for the R&D Technology Leap Support Program — including HM Solution Co. and Andong Yeotgireum Agricultural Cooperative — while 11 companies, including Myeongpum Andong Soju Co., were chosen for the All-set Package Support Program.

The K-BIC Corporate Support Program backs technology development and commercialization in the red, green and white biotech sectors to strengthen the competitiveness of North Gyeongsang Province's biotech industry.

Under the R&D Technology Leap Program, university researchers and companies jointly pursue technology development, prototype production and patent applications. The All-set Package provides tailored support covering prototype production, testing and analysis, technical problem-solving, and design and marketing assistance.

With the agreements now signed, the K-BIC Business Unit plans to move forward in earnest on nine R&D Technology Leap projects and 11 All-set Package projects.

"We will work to closely connect the university's research capabilities with the technology needs of local companies, so that the support translates into real technological innovation and commercialization outcomes," Kim said.

Moon said the unit would "actively support the generation of tangible results — including prototypes, patents and technology transfers — through sustained collaboration between companies and their project-responsible professors."
