The assets of senior public officials whose employment status changed between May 2 and June 1 were disclosed simultaneously. A total of 73 officials are covered in this round.

Among current civil servants included in the disclosure, Park Hye-jin — director and artistic director of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's National Opera Company of Korea — reported the largest assets. She was followed by Kim Seong-gyun, president of Seoul National University Dental Hospital under the Ministry of Education, and Kim Yeong-tae, former president of Seoul National University Hospital.

The Government Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Personnel Management published the details in the official gazette on Friday.

The 73 individuals subject to this disclosure were classified by the nature of their status change: 24 newly appointed, 13 promoted, three whose deferred periodic reporting obligations ended, two re-registered, one subject to re-disclosure, four exempted from registration requirements, and 26 retired.

Park reported the highest assets of all those covered.

Park declared 46.55 billion won ($33.2 million) in assets held in her own name and those of family members. Real estate — specifically land — accounted for the largest share, totaling 35.63 billion won and comprising plots in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, and Sadang-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, all registered under her father's name.

Kim Seong-gyun, president of Seoul National University Dental Hospital, reported 12.81 billion won, while Kim Yeong-tae, former president of Seoul National University Hospital, reported 8.39 billion won. The former president's assets rose 226.6 million won from the previous filing, driven in part by higher assessed values for apartments in Hoehyeon-dong, Jung-gu, and Seogyeo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

Meanwhile, the top three retired officials by reported assets were Bang Seung-chan, former head of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) under the Ministry of Science and ICT; Shin Seong-hwan, former member of the Bank of Korea's Monetary Policy Board; and Kim Eon-jong, former head of the Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics under the Ministry of Education.

Bang reported 11.74 billion won in assets, Shin reported 6.97 billion won, and Kim reported 6.52 billion won.

Bang's assets grew by 1.24 billion won from the previous filing, boosted by rising assessed values for his apartment in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and investment gains from overseas semiconductor and AI stocks held in his spouse's name. Shin's and Kim's assets also increased — by 1.25 billion won and 1.11 billion won, respectively — compared with their previous filings.
