G.NA (real name Choi Ji-na), the singer who stepped away from the Korean music industry amid a prostitution scandal, will appear as a special MC at a K-pop event in Canada.

The organizers of the Kimchi & K-Food Festival announced her participation Wednesday on their official Instagram account, posting a video alongside the news.

"Korean-Canadian artist G.NA, who has been active on the K-pop stage, will join as the special MC for the 2026 Kimchi Festival K-Pop Dance Championship," the organizers said. "It will be a special occasion to cheer on participants' passion and determination, and to share the energy of K-pop with the audience."

G.NA confirmed her involvement by commenting "Can't wait" on the post.

The K-Pop Dance Championship is a featured event of the 2026 Kimchi & K-Food Festival, set for Aug. 28 at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. Admission is free. The organizers described it as the largest Korean food and culture festival in western Canada, expecting more than 100,000 visitors.

G.NA signaled her return to the music industry in June, when she shared news on her Instagram of a remake of her debut song "Kkeo-jyeo julge jal sara" ("Get Out of My Life, Live Well").

"Rather than thinking I had to perform as well as I used to, it was a day when I just wanted to capture who I am right now," she said. "I'll keep sharing our story, little by little."

G.NA debuted in 2010 with "Kkeo-jyeo julge jal sara" and went on to score a string of hits, including "Black & White" and "Top Girl."

Her career came to a halt in March 2016 after she was implicated in a prostitution case involving overseas travel to the United States. G.NA maintained that she had a consensual relationship with a man she met through an acquaintance and that no money had changed hands. The court rejected her account and fined her 2 million won ($1,420).
