KB Kookmin Bank is moving to strengthen its competitiveness in inheritance and asset transfer as part of a broader push to expand offerings tailored to senior customers. The bank has teamed up with law firm Kim & Chang to broaden a comprehensive asset succession service covering wealth management, estate and gift planning, and legal advisory.

KB Kookmin Bank announced Tuesday that it signed a mutual cooperation MOU on inheritance finance with Kim & Chang at the KB Kookmin Bank annex in Yeouido, Seoul, on Friday.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will cooperate on comprehensive legal advisory for asset succession to prevent inheritance disputes, as well as education and seminar support related to inheritance tax law. KB Kookmin Bank plans to deliver integrated services linking wealth management, estate planning and legal advisory through its KB Golden Life centers.

The partnership also covers inheritance consulting and non-financial legal advisory for customers who hold assets overseas.

"Through this agreement with one of Korea's leading law firms, we are now able to offer customers the best possible inheritance solutions," a KB Kookmin Bank official said. "We will continue to do our utmost to give customers a seamless, one-stop comprehensive asset succession experience — from wealth management and estate and gift planning through to legal advisory."

Meanwhile, KB Financial Group is expanding senior-focused services spanning finance, health and lifestyle through its network of 19 KB Golden Life centers nationwide. As part of that effort, the group signed an MOU with Gangbuk Samsung Hospital last month on promoting senior health and a culture of charitable giving, and recently co-hosted a "Second Recommended Books Event" for senior customers with Kyobo Book Centre.
