First-half sales surge 273% on-year to 113.7 billion won; operating profit 5 billion won, net profit 6.3 billion won

Storage controller mass production contributes 21.2 billion won, or 18.6% of first-half sales

Partnerships with Fadu, SK Hynix on eSSD and BrainChip on AI chips broaden customer base

Asicland, an application-specific integrated circuit design solutions company, posted first-half sales of 113.7 billion won ($80.4 million), surpassing its full-year 2025 revenue in just six months. Operating profit and net profit both turned positive, reflecting simultaneous gains in top-line growth and profitability.

The company reported consolidated first-half sales of 113.7 billion won, operating profit of 5 billion won and net profit of 6.3 billion won, it announced Tuesday. Sales rose roughly 273 percent from 30.5 billion won in the same period last year and came in about 56 percent above the full-year 2025 figure of 72.8 billion won. The company swung to an operating profit after posting an operating loss in the first half of last year.

Both an expansion in development projects and growth in mass-production revenue drove the sales increase. Development revenue came to 92.6 billion won in the first half, while mass-production revenue reached 21.2 billion won, accounting for about 18.6 percent of total sales. Gross profit was 18.3 billion won, with a gross margin of 16.1 percent.

Development projects and mass-production business are expanding simultaneously in the memory chip and storage segment. Asicland signed a next-generation eSSD controller development agreement with data center SSD controller fabless firm Fadu in 2024, then joined SK Hynix in June as a development partner for its next-generation eSSD controller.

Mass-production work is also feeding into revenue. In January, Asicland signed a storage controller mass-production supply contract worth $17.561 million, with annual supply volumes fixed in advance and scheduled for phased delivery through the end of this year. The company handles design optimization, process support and mass-production yield management based on TSMC's manufacturing process.

The company continues to add overseas AI semiconductor customers. In February, it signed a semiconductor design and supply agreement with neuromorphic AI chip company BrainChip to develop the second-generation neuromorphic AI processor "AKD2500." The arrangement covers ASIC design through wafer fabrication, packaging and testing.

At its Taiwan R&D center, Asicland is developing technologies related to advanced processes — including 3-nanometer and 5-nanometer nodes — and advanced packaging such as CoWoS. Among domestic design houses, the company is a TSMC Value Chain Alliance partner, supporting ASIC design, verification, tape-out, process support and mass production.

"The first half of this year saw expanded development projects and growing mass-production revenue flow through to our results, leading to the highest half-year sales and a return to profit since the company's founding," said Lee Jong-min, chief executive of Asicland. "We will expand high-value-added projects and follow-on mass-production business at home and abroad, with a focus on AI and memory chip sectors."
