A new poll released Monday shows President Lee Jae Myung's job approval rating has fallen for five consecutive weeks, hitting its lowest point since he took office.

In a survey conducted by Realmeter on behalf of the Energy Economy newspaper, 43.0 percent of respondents gave a positive assessment of Lee's job performance — down 0.3 percentage points from the previous week. The poll surveyed 2,511 people aged 18 and older nationwide from Aug. 10 to Aug. 14.

The disapproval rating rose 1.1 percentage points to 54.1%, outpacing the approval rating outside the margin of error (±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level) for the third consecutive week. Some 2.9 percent of respondents said they did not know.
