A van that crashed into a snack shop at Sansu Market in Dong-gu, Gwangju, on Sunday. [Provided by the Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Fire Department. Redistribution and DB prohibited]

A van driven by a man in his 70s plowed into a snack shop in Gwangju on Sunday, injuring six people.

The vehicle, driven by a man identified only as A, crashed into the shop at Sansu Market in Dong-gu at around 12:43 p.m.

A, his passenger and vendors inside the shop were among the six who sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

Police believe A was pulling his van out of a parking spot in an alley when he clipped another vehicle and then hit the accelerator. They are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
