The international affairs office of Yeungnam University of Science and Technology announced Saturday that it will send 15 students to Australia, the United States and New Zealand as part of the 2026 Junior College Global Field Training program.
Ahead of their departure, President Lee Jae-yong met with the participating students at a pre-departure gathering Saturday afternoon in the main building's 10th-floor conference room.
Students from the nursing, tourism service and smart e-automotive departments are taking part in the program, gaining overseas education and hands-on experience tied to their respective fields of study.
Of the 15 participants, nursing students make up the largest group at 13, with one student each from the tourism service and smart e-automotive departments, expanding field-based global education opportunities across disciplines.
Australia will receive the largest contingent. A total of 10 students — eight from nursing, one from tourism service and one from smart e-automotive — will conduct field training at James Cook University in Brisbane through Dec. 5.
Four nursing students will travel to the United States, split between La Roche University and Witt University. Two nursing students will train at La Roche from Aug. 21 through Dec. 12, while two others will train at Witt from Aug. 25 through Dec. 11.
One nursing student will also be sent to New Zealand, conducting field training at ICL Education Group in Auckland from Aug. 21 through Dec. 12.
"I hope the experiences and lessons gained through this program will serve as a foundation for broadening students' career paths and futures," President Lee said.
