The Lifelong Education Center at Daegu Health University ran its "2026 Youth Function Recovery Anti-Aging Program" for 29 local senior residents at Room 414 of the Culture Building from June 29 to Aug. 13.
The program was organized as part of a regional talent development project — known as the Anchor initiative — by the Lifelong Education Center and the Department of Sports Rehabilitation to support physical recovery and healthy aging among seniors in the community.
Spanning 10 sessions and 30 hours in total, the program taught participants health management techniques they can apply consistently in their daily lives.
The curriculum was designed with seniors' physical characteristics and interests in mind, combining a range of activities — silver dance, corrective yoga and rehabilitation Pilates — in a structured, progressive sequence.
Participants learned exercises to improve physical function while protecting their joints, as well as posture correction methods and other practical health management skills for everyday use.
Park Hui-ok, director of the Lifelong Education Center and a professor in the nursing department, said the center would continue expanding community-tailored programs "so that seniors can manage their health through lifelong learning and lead vibrant, active lives."
