Ulsan's Nam-gu has carried out an organizational restructuring under the ninth elected-term administration to strengthen its future strategy, local economy, and welfare and safety functions, while consolidating and redeploying overlapping or complementary operations.

According to Nam-gu, the district will solicit public feedback through a legislative notice on amendments to its administrative structure and staffing regulations through Tuesday before submitting the proposal for deliberation and approval at the 280th Nam-gu Council's first regular session next month. The restructuring targets three core priorities of the ninth elected-term administration: reviving the local economy, improving field-based communication with residents, and identifying new engines of future growth.

The reorganization shifts the district from a seven-bureau to a six-bureau structure, reducing management units while reinforcing frontline staffing in areas closely tied to residents' daily lives, such as welfare and safety. The total headcount will grow by 28, from 907 to 935. By grade, one Grade 4 position will be cut, while one Grade 6, 10 Grade 7, 15 Grade 8 and three Grade 9 posts will be added.
