Suwon's hanok cultural village Namsuheon has completed its trial run and is set to begin full operations.
Located near the fortress wall of Hwaseong, Namsuheon is a stay-and-experience cultural complex offering hanok accommodations and traditional cultural programs. After an opening ceremony on March 27, the facility spent several months in trial operations to review and refine its services. Starting Friday, it will accept lodging reservations from residents and tourists.
Namsuheon covers a total floor area of 2,644 square meters across one below-ground floor and two above-ground floors. Construction broke ground in April 2023 and was completed this April. The first floor — home to a gallery cafe and a hanok library — is an open cultural space any visitor may use freely, while the second floor houses 12 hanok guest rooms.
The rooms come in a range of sizes, accommodating one to two guests, three to four guests, or six to eight guests.
