Daekyo CEO Kang Ho-jun has purchased 300 million won ($212,000) worth of the company's shares.
According to Daekyo on Wednesday, Kang acquired 298,796 common shares on the open market from Aug. 5 to Aug. 11, over a five-day period. The total acquisition cost came to approximately 315.61 million won. The purchase raised his total holdings from 26,000 shares to 324,796 shares, with his ownership stake expanding from 0.03 percent to 0.40 percent.
The move signals his strong commitment to the company's sustained growth and enhanced corporate value to the market and shareholders.
Daekyo, which marks its 50th anniversary this year, has declared its ambition to evolve beyond an education company into an education and culture enterprise. The company is expanding into AI- and digital-based future education, senior life care and cultural content to secure new growth engines.
