Yeongju city in North Gyeongsang Province will open the Munjeong-dong Seocheon riverside outdoor water park from Saturday through Aug. 16, the city announced Tuesday, marking the start of the summer vacation season.
The facility will operate from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, with free admission.
This year, the park will offer a range of water attractions including a swimming pool and inflatable water slides. Mongolian-style tents will be set up in rest areas so parents and guardians can relax comfortably while children play.
Lifeguards and nursing staff will be on site to handle emergencies, ensuring visitors can enjoy the water safely.
The park will operate on a reservation-only basis.
Daily capacity will be capped at 1,000 visitors to maintain a safe and comfortable environment, and walk-in admissions will not be accepted.
Residents wishing to visit must complete an advance reservation through the Yeongju Sports Council website (영주시체육회.kr) before their intended visit date.
"We hope the Munjeong outdoor water park will serve as a downtown retreat where residents can beat the summer heat," said Cho Han-cheol, head of the sports promotion division. "We will do our utmost to manage the facility and ensure safety so that the whole family can enjoy it with peace of mind."
