Alphabet, Google's parent company, said Wednesday that its second-quarter sales rose 24 percent year on year to $119.8 billion, beating market expectations.
The result topped the $116.9 billion consensus forecast compiled by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).
Earnings per share came in at $9.11, more than three times the Wall Street estimate of $2.89.
