Hite Jinro announced Wednesday it will release "Ilpum Jinro 26-Year" — a spirit crafted entirely from distillate aged in oak barrels for more than 26 years — in a limited run of 7,500 bottles.

Hite Jinro has released a high-aged limited edition of its Ilpum Jinro line every year since launching "Ilpum Jinro 18-Year" in 2018. The product has won the grand prize at the Monde Selection international spirits competition for eight consecutive years, from its first entry in 2019 through this year.

Ilpum Jinro 26-Year is a distilled spirit made from 100 percent pure-rice mash and aged in oak barrels for more than 26 years. The rounded, savory character of rice distillate combines with barrel aging to produce a smoky aroma alongside a deep, smooth sweetness reminiscent of vanilla, cherry and chocolate liqueur. Each bottle is individually numbered from 1 to 7,500.

The release will be available at select restaurants and hotels. General consumers can enter a pre-order lottery through the limited-edition trading platform KREAM from 11 a.m. Wednesday through 11 a.m. Wednesday.
