Actor Choi Kang-hee has spoken out about being stalked, saying she received a letter threatening to follow her car.

On Wednesday, Choi posted on Instagram saying she wanted to explain the situation publicly "because this is a post everyone can see."

Choi said she found the letter on Tuesday, in which the sender warned that if she did not respond, he would take her silence as consent and follow her car. She said she also realized the sender was someone who had approached her a few days earlier.

"I will not reveal your name. Do not come to find me. No response is also a refusal," she warned.

Choi said she wanted the person to understand that "attempting to speak to someone without their consent, waiting for them, and following them constitutes stalking," and that "even if the behavior is not malicious, it causes psychological fear." She added a further plea: "Please do not come to find me."

Choi also said she would refuse all letters and gifts sent to broadcasting stations, and addressed her fans directly: "I want to let my fans know as well. I can no longer accept letters and gifts sent to broadcasting stations. Please send them through my agency or fan club."

Fans who saw the post rallied around Choi, leaving comments such as "I'll pray for you," "I can't understand why something like this would happen," and "Please stop."

Choi is set to return to performing in September in the play "Closer," her first acting role in about five years.
