The Kakao union plans to hold a picket at the company's Pangyo Ajit headquarters on Tuesday.

The Kakao chapter of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions' National Chemical Fiber Food Industry Union is set to stage the picket inside the Pangyo Ajit during the lunch hour on Tuesday.

A union official said the number of participants was still being confirmed.

The picket will proceed without a separate rally or march, with members participating on a voluntary basis.

Kakao's labor and management have been engaged in collective bargaining negotiations since last month but have yet to reach a final agreement.

After collective bargaining broke down in May, the two sides held a half-day strike on June 10 and a full-day strike on June 29, while continuing to negotiate.

Because the picket is a voluntary, lunch-hour action, its impact on services such as KakaoTalk is expected to be limited.

Kakao said it is continuing negotiations with the union as both sides work toward concluding a collective agreement.
