Multipurpose convergence drone station rental service — covering drones, takeoff-and-landing stations and control systems — introduced on Narajangteo
A rental service that allows public agencies to deploy high-cost advanced convergence products in the field at lower cost is making its debut on Narajangteo, the government's online procurement marketplace.
The Public Procurement Service on Tuesday posted a purchase tender notice on the Narajangteo integrated shopping mall for a "convergence drone station rental service" that can be used for multiple purposes, including wildfire prevention and monitoring and facility safety inspections.
A convergence drone station is a product that combines a drone, a drone station — which supports automatic takeoff and landing, storage, charging and data transmission — and a control system with mission equipment. Agencies can freely select the functions and equipment they need based on their intended use and field conditions, such as wildfire surveillance, forest patrol, facility safety inspections and exploration.
The product was developed from a "wildfire prevention drone monitoring service" selected as the top idea in a service product idea competition the Public Procurement Service held in 2025.
Im Heon-eok, director general of the Technology and Services Bureau at the Public Procurement Service, said the convergence drone station rental service is "a new procurement product that makes it easier to apply advanced drone technology to public safety operations without having to purchase it outright." He added that he expects it to "reduce the burden on agencies adopting new technology while at the same time expanding the entry of innovative drone companies into the public market."
