HS Hwaseong announced Tuesday that it has won a contract to redevelop Seogwipo Port in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

The project covers port redevelopment work at Seogwipo Port in Seogwipo, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

The total contract value is about 27.8 billion won ($18.4 million), of which HS Hwaseong holds a 50 percent stake worth about 13.9 billion won. The company is participating in the project alongside Yeongseong Togeon and Cheongbong Environment.

The construction period runs 1,372 days from the ground-breaking date.

Key work includes building one passenger berth — a 5,000-ton-class, 152-meter facility — and two cargo berths totaling 320 meters for vessels of up to 7,000 tons.

Moon Gang-yeong, head of HS Hwaseong's operations team, said the contract win reflects recognition of the company's technology and construction capabilities. "We will continue to prioritize quality and safety above all else as we actively pursue a wide range of civil infrastructure projects to build a foundation for sustained growth," he said.
