Road FC rising star "Pyeon-Star" Pyeon Ye-jun (19, Road FC Gunsan) has his next fight confirmed.
Pyeon will face Russia's Sunnatulo Azizov (24) at Road FC 078, set for Aug. 29 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul.
Pyeon has made a strong impression on fans in the flyweight division with his flashy striking and aggressive offense. He stands out not only for reading opponents before attacking, but also for landing strikes at unexpected moments based on split-second decisions. His star power is equally notable — footage of him climbing the cage to taunt opponents from above has racked up tens of millions of views on social media.
Pyeon defeated veteran Yoo Jae-nam (39, Road FC Taejanng) in the first round in May and will look to extend his winning streak to two against Azizov.
Azizov shares a similar style with Pyeon in that he delivers unorthodox strikes that are difficult for opponents to anticipate. Rather than fighting at a steady rhythm, he frequently shifts the pace mid-fight to disrupt his opponent's timing. The unpredictability of his attack angles is expected to make him a tricky opponent even for Pyeon.
Road FC 078 already has several bouts confirmed, including a bantamweight interim title fight between "Jeju Jjang" Yang Ji-yong (30, Jeju Team The King) and "Korean Strong" Kim Hyeon-woo (24), as well as a matchup between "Firefighter Fighter" Shin Dong-guk (45) and Park Hyeon-bin (24), and a bout between Son Jin-ho (42) and Kim San (25).
The event will be held to mark the inclusion of mixed martial arts as an official sport at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the organizer said.
